A United Airlines flight from New Jersey to Brazil made an emergency landing at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport because of a mechanical issue on early Thursday (Sep 22).
United Airlines said in a statement “After our aircraft experienced a mechanical issue shortly after takeoff, it remained in the air to burn fuel and then landed safely, passengers deplaned at the gate and were transported using another aircraft.”
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft had 256 passengers onboard and had been headed to Sao Paulo, Brazil, before returning to Newark.
