MAINLAND Portugal

ALLOWED (Essential and non-essential travel).

Countries of the European Union or of a State associated with the Schengen Area (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland); Brazil, USA and UK; Countries with flights authorized for non-essential travel subject to reciprocal confirmation: Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Jordan, South Korea, UAE, Kuwait, NamĂ­bia, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Republic Popular in China, Rwanda, Singapore, Ukraine, Uruguay, as well as the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau and Taiwan.

Mandatory

RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) – 72h before boarding, or

Laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test – 24h before boarding (according to the European Commission list based on the Council Recommendation of 21 January 2021 + Addendum December 2021), or

A valid test or recovery EU Digital COVID Certificate, or

A valid recovery certificate issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Switzerland, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Panama, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, The Vatican

Children under 12 do not need to present test.

It is mandatory for all passengers to fill online a Passenger Locator Form (individually), after check-in and before departure time. The QR Code generated when filling out the PLF can be presented in paper or digital format, without which boarding will be denied.

Only vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency are valid in inland Portugal and Azores: 

Passengers from Southern Africa
Flights to and from southern African countries, namely South Africa, Botswana, Essuatini, Lesotho, Namibia and Zimbabwe, are suspended. All passengers from these countries and from Mozambique or who present a passport with check-out in the 14 days prior to their arrival in Portugal must complete 14 days of prophylactic isolation at home or in a place indicated by the health authorities. Prophylactic isolation can be stopped if a negative test (TAAN or TRAg) is performed on the 3rd day. It does not apply to those who stay in mainland Portugal for a maximum period of 48 hours.

These passengers must undergo an RT-PCR test (TAAN) or a laboratory Rapid Antigen test (TRAGg) to COVID-19 upon arrival at the airport.

These measures are also applicable to citizens who enter the national territory by sea or land, with the necessary adaptations.

Domestic flights
Control measures do not apply to domestic flights.

AZORES

ALLOWED (Essential and non-essential travel)

Flights from Mainland Portugal or Madeira

A valid EU Digital COVID Certificate, or

RT-PCR Test – 72h before boarding, or

Laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test – 48h before boarding (according to the European Commission list based on the Council Recommendation of 21 January 2021 + Addendum December 2021), or
Recovery Certificate (valid for 180 days)

International flights

All passengers must present, at the time of departure, proof of laboratory testing of RT-PCR (NAAT) or laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test carried out within 72 or 48 hours prior to departure time. In the case of the digital Recovery Certificate, these are valid for 180 days.

Children aged 12 and under can travel without a certificate or test.

All passengers need to fill Questionnaire, with exception of EU Digital COVID Certificate of vaccination or recovery holders.

MADEIRA

There are no restrictions on the entry of travellers at the airports, ports and marinas of Madeira.

Tests undertaken before returning to the country of origin are the responsibility of the passenger, i.e. at his/her own expense.
