Israel and the United Arab Emirates will agree to allow visa-free travel between the nations after the UAE ratified an agreement on the matter on Wednesday. International Minister Gabi Ashkenazi mentioned, “the ratification of the agreement is a central factor of the complete and quick implementation of the various agreements being worked on nowadays with the Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco.”
Ashkenazi credited the Foreign Ministry with quickly advancing the relations with these nations, the visa-free agreement will come into force from February 12.
The UAE was initially anticipated to authorize the agreement in late December or early January, however, deferred the ultimate ratification.
Earlier this month, an Israeli diplomatic supply mentioned that the hold-up was because of massive numbers of Israelis arriving within the UAE without visas in December, leaving the Emiratis to deal with their cases upon arrival.
Last week, the Foreign Ministry confirmed that Eitan Naeh, the former ambassador to Turkey, might be Israel’s top diplomat within the UAE.
He’s the first Israeli diplomat to be formally and openly stationed within the UAE as Israel units up its mission in Abu Dhabi, the capital, following the signing of the Abraham Accords.
Na’eh’s as a charge d’affaires is expected to be interim until an ambassador is appointed, which likely happens after the March election.
