UK updates travel advice for UAE

The UK has updated its advice for individuals traveling to the UAE, from Saturday morning, January 16, guests traveling from or by way of the UK and arriving in Dubai should have to show a negative Covid-19 PCR test result taken not more than 96 hours before departure at check-in.

Dubai residents traveling to Dubai from or via the UK still have the option to either show a negative PCR test when leaving the UK which is not more than 96 hours before departure or to take a Covid-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai, These tested on arrival will have to isolate till the results come out.

All travelers may also be required to undertake a PCR test on arrival in Dubai, no matter whether they had been tested before departure.

Those traveling to Abu Dhabi from the UK should have carried out a PCR test within 72 hours of departure and received a negative result. They may also be required to undertake a PCR test on arrival, wear a government-provided wristband, complete a minimal 10-day period of self-isolation or quarantine, relying on the size of their stay, have two further PCR tests on day six and 12 of their stay.

On January 12, the UK removed the UAE from its travel corridor, so individuals travelling from the UAE now must isolate for 10 days upon arriving within the UK, except they’ve an exemption like diplomatic status. The rules had been also modified to make it necessary for travelers to take a PCR test earlier than travelling to the UK.
