A Survey reveals 46% of Saudi Arabia intend to travel overseas in 2021

DUBAI: Nearly half of these surveyed in a current poll in Saudi Arabia mentioned they intend to travel internationally in 2021.

The “Global Vacation Intent” survey, performed by YouGov on behalf of Reed Travel Exhibitions – organizer of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition in Dubai – discovered that 48 % of these surveyed within the UAE and 46 % of these in Saudi Arabia mentioned they intend to journey internationally as soon as restrictions are lifted in 2021.

The poll was performed throughout October and November 2020, earlier than the announcement of breakthroughs within the improvement of COVID-19 vaccines.

“Nearly half of these polled confirmed that they supposed to journey in 2021, and as soon as vaccines have been rolled out all over the world these numbers can only enhance,” mentioned Danielle Curtis, exhibition director at ATM.

“When it comes to outbound travel, many expatriates can be searching for a calming vacation or hoping to travel home to see family and mates,” she added.

“When it comes to inbound travel, it was welcome news that nearly a 3rd of Germans polled mentioned they supposed to travel internationally. Germany is among the largest European feeder markets to the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), with 1.8 million in a single day stays in 2018. Certainly, over 316,000 Germans visited Dubai between January and June 2019.”

All flights into, out of, and inside Saudi Arabia have been grounded in March this yr as a part of policies to curb the spread of COVID-19 within the Kingdom.

Whereas international flights won’t fully resume till January 2021, domestic flights restarted on the end of May.
