Scottish Government added UAE to Scotland’s travel quarantine list

The Scottish Government has added the entire UAE to Scotland’s travel quarantine list on Monday, however, travelers coming from Dubai should self-isolate for 10 days after arrival in Scotland to lower the risk of Covid-19 spread, the Scottish Government has updated its recommendation, extending the rules to the whole of the UAE.

The decision has been made following after covid-19 risk assessment from the Joint Biosecurity Centre, as Transport Secretary Michael Matheson continues to induce Scots to keep away from the non-essential overseas travel.

The new guidelines come into effect from 4 am (Tuesday) morning, local time.

A Scottish Government statement issued tonight says: “Following the move to require travelers Dubai from to quarantine on arrival, Ministers have agreed on the basis of recommendation today from the Joint Biosecurity Centre to remove the United Arab Emirates in its entirety from the worldwide travel exemptions list.
