To curb the spread of new covid-19 variant, The Finnish government has decided to increase the current entry restrictions until February 9.
Based on a press release of the government on the extension of entry restrictions, a relaxation of the restrictions isn’t acceptable until the abroad situation didn’t change.
“The decision applies an rate of interest threshold of 25 new cases per 100 000 individuals during the earlier 14 days. This applies to the Schengen nations, the non-Schengen EU nations and the UK,” the press release also notes.
The government has kept unchanged restrictions on internal borders, which signifies that restrictions will proceed to use on entry from the following EEA nations:
Austria, Belgium, CzechRepublic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
The government also explains that daily visitors on the land border between Finland and Sweden between border communities will still be possible till another decision is taken.
“As well as, you can work in Finland from Sweden and Estonia without voluntary 10-day quarantine,” the government notes, adding that crossing the interior border at the borders between Finland and Sweden and between Finland and Norway is also permitted along the ice with out landing within the territory of another state.
Residents of border communities and the Sámi can cross the land border between Finland and Sweden and between Finland and Norway (together with lakes) and border rivers, also from apart from via border crossing points, as per the exterior border restrictions, minor adjustments have been launched, as the government has decided to re-ban from getting into arrivals from Japan and South Korea beginning from January 11.
