Covid-19: Arrivals in Lithuania from the US no longer under stricter self-isolation rules

Lithuania removed the United States and Gibraltar from the list of countries and regions most severely affected by the pandemic.

As of Monday, stricter requirements apply to arrivals from Albania, Bahrain, the Seychelles, and Slovakia.

Commercial drivers are now also required to self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival “till the day of departure, however no longer than 10 days”, according to the nation’s Health Ministry.

Previously, they were required to get tested for Covid-19 or self-isolate.

Under the new rules that came into effect on February 8, all nations have been included in the coronavirus-affected travel list.

All travelers coming to Lithuania now must present a coronavirus test taken within the last 48 hours – or register for one in Lithuania within a day after arriving – as well as self-isolate for 10 days. They must also fill out a questionnaire.

Individuals who don’t show any coronavirus signs can also get tested for Covid-19 on the seventh day of self-isolation. As soon as the result comes again negative, they can stop self-isolating even if it’s been less than 10 days since their arrival.

Those arriving from nations affected by the new coronavirus strain should self-isolate in accommodation separated from other relations and are not allowed to go outside. All other arrivals can go for walks within one kilometer of their homes.
