The Maldives recorded the highest single-day spike in tourist arrivals since it reopened its borders on Sunday with over 4,800 arrivals.
Data released by Tourism Ministry show 4,856 tourists visited the Maldives on Sunday, February 15.
The earlier highest single-day spike in tourist arrivals was recorded on February 12 with 4,809 arrivals, following 4,480 arrivals on February 13.

The Maldives has recorded 138,912 tourist arrivals so far this yr, and an average of 3,000 tourist arrivals per day.
The nation currently has 641 tourist services (43,976 beds) in operation.
Maldives is open to all tourists, provided they have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken almost 96 hours before departure from their original destination.
Tourists are issued a 30-day visa upon arrival.
Tourist Ministry expects to receive 1.5 million tourist arrivals this yr.
