Compared to July 2021, in July 2022 customs registered an increase in the arrivals of foreign visitors of 49.6% and an increase of 27.6% in the departures abroad of the Romanian visitors.
Arrivals and overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation in July :
Romania: In July 2022, the arrivals in the establishments of tourists’ reception amounted to 1475.0 thousand persons, increasing by 2.8% compared to July 2021.
In July 2022, the arrivals of the Romanian tourists in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 87.9% of the total arrivals, while the foreign tourists were 12.1%.
In July 2022, the overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception amounted to 3622.4 thousand, decreasing by 1.7% compared to July 2021.
In July 2022, the Romanian tourists’ overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 89.6% of the total overnight stays, while the foreign tourists’ overnight stays were 10.4%.
In July 2022, the average duration of stay was 2.5 days for Romanian tourists and 2.1 days for foreign tourists.
In July 2022, the net use index of accommodation places was 39.2% on total tourists’ accommodation structures, decreasing by 0.7 percentage points compared to July 2021.
In July 2022, the arrivals of foreign visitors in Romania, according to customs, amounted to 1427.6 thousand persons, increasing by 49.6% compared to July 2021.
In July 2022, the departures of Romanian visitors abroad, according to customs, amounted to 1822.6 thousand persons, increasing by 27.6% compared to July 2021.
Arrivals and overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation – in the period 1.01-31.07.2022 compared to the period 1.01-31.07.2021:
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the arrivals in the establishments of tourists’ reception amounted to 5907.1 thousand persons, 25.5% more compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the arrivals of the Romanian tourists in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 86.3% of the total arrivals, while the foreign tourists were 13.7%.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception amounted to 12445.6 thousand, 21.5% more compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the Romanian tourists’ overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 85.7% of the total overnight stays, while the foreign tourists’ overnight stays were 14.3%.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the average duration of stay was 2.1 days for Romanian tourists and 2.2 days for foreign tourists.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the net use index of accommodation places was 27.3% on total tourists’ accommodation structures, 3.7 percentage points more compared to the period 01.01- 31.07.2021.
By county, the number of tourists’ arrivals in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation in the period 01.01-31.07.2022 recorded higher values in Bucharest Municipality (779.4 thousand persons), Braşov (625.8 thousand persons), and Constanța (615.0 thousand persons), while the number of tourists’ overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation recorded higher values in Constanța (1974.5 thousand), Bucharest Municipality (1520.0 thousand) and Braşov (1178.4 thousand).
By country, the most arrivals of the foreign tourists accommodated in establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation in the period 01.01-31.07.2022 came from: Germany (90.0 thousand persons), Israel (71.8 thousand persons) and Italy (59.3 thousand persons).
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, according to customs, amounted to 6941.6 thousand persons, 109.0% more compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021.
In the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the departures of Romanian visitors abroad, according to customs, amounted to 9572.7 thousand persons, by 63.6% more compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021.
Arrivals and overnight stay in apartments and rooms for rent in July :
Arrivals in apartments and rooms for rent registered in July 2022 amounted to 175.8 thousand persons, an increase of 27.3% compared to July 2021.
Of the total number of arrivals, in July 2022, the arrivals of Romanian tourists in apartments and rooms for rent accounted for 94.7%, while the foreign tourists were only 5.3%.
The overnight stays registered in apartments and rooms for rent in July 2022 amounted to 445.4 thousand, an increase of 20.7% compared to those in July 2021.
Of the total number of overnight stays, in July 2022, the overnight stays of Romanian tourists in apartments and rooms for rent accounted for 95.4%, while the overnight stays of foreign tourists registered a percentage of 4.6%.
Arrivals and overnight stays in apartments and rooms for rent, in the period 01.01-31.07.2022 compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021 :
Arrivals in apartments and rooms for rent registered in the period 01.01-31.07.2022, amounted to
531.8 thousand persons, an increase of 52.4% compared to the period 01.01-31.07.2021.
Of the total number of arrivals, in the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the arrivals of Romanian tourists in apartments and rooms for rent accounted for 93.2%, while the foreign tourists were only 6.8%.
By county, in the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the number of tourist arrivals in apartments and rooms for rent registered higher values in Brașov (93.5 thousand persons), Constanța (93.1 thousand persons) and Bucharest Municipality (78.0 thousand persons).
The overnight stays registered in apartments and rooms for rent in the period 01.01-31.07.2022 amounted to 1123.0 thousand, an increase of 46.3% compared to those in the period 01.01- 31.07.2021.
Of the total number of overnight stays, in the period 01.01-31.07.2022, the overnight stays of Romanian tourists in apartments and rooms for rent accounted for 92.6%, while the overnight stays of foreign tourists registered a percentage of 7.4%.
By county, overnight stays of tourists in apartments and rooms for rent in the period 01.01- 31.07.2022 registered higher values in Constanța (295.2 thousand), Brașov (172.3 thousand) and Bucharest Municipality (151.3 thousand).
