Now from October this year, international tourists visiting Sikkim can now apply for Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and Protected Area Permit (PAP) online.
The work on the development of the dedicated website is in progress for the upcoming tourist season in October, so that foreigners are able to easily apply online via a dedicated website for the Restricted Area Permit and Protected Area Permit.
In the Independence Day speech, state Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced the online application for RAP and PAP for foreign tourists.
The Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) has thanked the chief minister for announcing the online application for RAP and PAP for foreign tourists.
Till now, to visit Sikkim, foreigners with a valid Indian visa were required to get a Restricted Area Permit (RAP), which was previously known as InnerLine Permit, from Sikkim Tourism Officers.
