Madrid as a gastronomic destination in the 21st edition of Madrid Fusión

Madrid has been the city chosen by Virtuoso, the North American consortium of premium travel agencies, for the celebration of the Virtuoso Connects conference, a high-impact professional tourism meeting attended by the Delegate Councilor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo, and in one that has been cited cites more than thirty agencies that are part of this consortium with European companies and service providers.

With this appointment, the city of Madrid puts itself in the European spotlight of premium tourism, one of the best of the Strategic Tourism Plan 2020-2023 of the City Council, as recalled by the Delegate Councilor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo, who considers the consolidation of Madrid as the new capital of Europe of excellence tourism a fact.

Maíllo welcomed the professionals participating in Virtuoso Connects to whom he explained the profound urban and tourist transformation that the capital is undergoing. An evolution in which the arrival of large international hotel chains is added to unique environments such as the Landscape of Light declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; large urban projects, such as Plaza de España; recent grand openings, such as the Canalejas Gallery, and others yet to come, such as the new Bernabéu. “All of them and other aspects, such as the particular lifestyle of the capital, enrich Madrid’s offer for this segment, which is crucial for the city”.

As a preferred member of Virtuoso, the Delegated Area of Tourism participates in all the events organized by this network of luxury travel agencies exclusively for its members and collaborators. The one held today will be a lever for the city to host other events of the North American premium tourism consortium whose president, Mathew Upchurch, held a meeting with the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, last September in New York.
