Srinagar’s famous tulip garden reopens for tourists

Asia’s Largest and most famous Tulip garden of Srinagar opened its gates to visitors on Wednesday (Mar 23).

The garden was officially opened on March 25, 2021, by Baseer Ahmed Khan, the advisor to the Lieutenant Governor (LG).

The garden emerged as a huge hit as it witnessed as many as 50,000 visitors in a matter of just five days. Around 4,500 visitors were recorded on the opening day of the tulip nursery. Despite the pandemic, the iconic garden has become one of the main tourist attractions in the area.

Soon after its gates reopened, tourists were seen dancing, enjoying, and clicking selfies while walking in the pathways amid the beautiful flowers of tulips. The office of LG J&K took to social media to share some latest photos of the garden. Shri Manoj Sinha (Lieutenant Governor) also urged people to visit the place, adding there are over one million blooms this year.

The garden is not kept open throughout the year. During this almost one-month-long show, around fifteen lakh bulbs will be showcased to attract more local and outside visitors.
