Spain’s Famous ‘bull-running’ Festival is back

The Annual famous San Fermin bull-run festival began on Wednesday (July 6) after two years long gap due to the pandemic. The festival draws huge crowds on the streets of Spain’s Pamplona city.

The start of the festival was marked by lighting up the traditional ‘chupinazo’, a firework that heralds the festivities.

Revellers gathered at the town hall square were seen celebrating the launch of the ‘Chupinazo’ rocket, which marks the official opening of the 2022 San Fermin fiestas in Pamplona, Spain.

Thursday (July 7) was the first day of the running of the bulls, a tradition dating back centuries and made world-famous by Ernest Hemingway’s novel “The Sun Also Rises,” also published under the title “Fiesta”.

People were seen as excited and cheerful as the celebrations commenced after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
