Singapore airlines canceled flights due to planned strikes at German airports on 17 February 2023

Singapore airlines on Thursday (Feb 16) issued a press release announcing the cancellation of flights departing to/ from Germany on Friday. The press release said, “Due to planned strikes at selected airports across Germany on 17 February 2023, the following Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights departing to/ from Germany will be canceled:

  • SQ26 departing Singapore for Frankfurt on 16 February 2023 at 2355hrs
  • SQ25 departing New York for Frankfurt on 16 February 2023 at 2015hrs
  • SQ26 departing Frankfurt for New York on 17 February 2023 at 0820hrs
  • SQ25 departing Frankfurt for Singapore on 17 February 2023 at 1140hrs
  • SQ326 departing Singapore for Frankfurt on 17 February 2023 at 1055hrs
  • SQ325 departing Frankfurt for Singapore on 17 February 2023 at 2155hrs
  • SQ328 departing Singapore for Munich on 17 February 2023 at 0025hrs
  • SQ327 departing Munich for Singapore on 17 February 2023 at 1220hrs

The Airline mentioned, “SIA will try to accommodate the affected customers on other flights. However, customers should note that there is currently limited seat availability on SIA flights due to high demand. Alternatively, customers may seek a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket. SIA customers who booked directly with us may use our Assistance Request Form to seek a refund. For bookings made through travel agents or partner airlines, customers are advised to contact their travel agent or purchasing airline directly for assistance”.
