SIA and Scoot customers may transit through Singapore Changi Airport from approved cities to destinations within the SIA Group network currently operated by both airlines.
Travellers can transit through Singapore if their flight itinerary meets either of the following:
1. If a traveller is travelling with an airline whose transfer routes have been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). Transfers between Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Air France, Air Niugini, Asiana Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Fiji Airways, Garuda Indonesia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Royal Brunei Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines have been approved by CAAS for transit in Singapore. Transfers to and from flights operated by other airlines, that have not been approved by CAAS, are not allowed.
2. If a traveller is not connecting to a flight to a destination in Mainland China or Hong Kong SAR. Services to Singapore from Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR remain unaffected, and passengers originating from Mainland China or Hong Kong will be allowed to transfer through Singapore Changi Airport en-route to their final destinations.
3. Transfers to and from India via Singapore are not allowed. SIA Group’s direct passenger flights between Singapore and India, including the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) services from Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai, will continue as per the bilateral travel bubble arrangements between Singapore and India governments. Travellers may still book flights and travel between the two countries.
4. if a traveller is not transiting in Singapore on VTL flights to or from Malaysia, which is not allowed due to regulatory reasons.
With the exception of travellers from Malaysia and India, travellers from any other VTL country are allowed to transit through Singapore on VTL flights as long as they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, hold a vaccination certificate in English, and meet all entry requirements of their destination country.
Pre-departure Test Requirements
All travellers transiting through Singapore, including Singapore citizens and permanent residents, must take either a pre-departure Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test or professionally administered (e.g. by medical professionals or Government-recognised trained professionals) Antigen Rapid Test (ART).
Travel history to Category I countries/regions: Take a PCR test or professionally-administered ART. Self-swabs are not allowed.
Travel history to Category II or III countries/regions: Take a PCR test or professionally-administered ART. Self-swabs are not allowed.
Travel history to Category IV countries: Take a PCR test. ART tests are not allowed.
The test must be conducted within two days before the scheduled departure date of their flight. The requirement for a pre-departure Covid-19 test does not apply to children aged 2 years and below (i.e. born in or after 2020).
Booking a Flight – Single Tickets and Complying with Entry Requirements
Travellers should book the full journey on one ticket, instead of splitting it up into separate tickets, to comply with regulatory requirements during this period. They should also ensure that they meet the entry requirements for their final destination.
Transiting at Singapore Changi Airport
There are regulatory restrictions in place for transit passengers at Changi Airport. Transit passengers from Category IV countries, as well as Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, may experience restricted movement within the transit area and will not be able to access our SilverKris Lounge, in addition to other regulatory measures.
Transit time in Singapore should not exceed 48 hours.
