SFO Welcomes United Airlines Nonstop Service to Rome

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) celebrated an announcement from United Airlines detailing plans to launch nonstop service from SFO to Rome in May 2023. The Airport’s largest airline plans to launch daily seasonal service to Rome–Fiumicino International Airport “Leonardo da Vinci” on May 23, 2023, using Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

“We are thrilled to welcome nonstop United Airlines flights from SFO to Rome next summer,” said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. “For more than 80 years, United has been offering SFO travelers more destinations than any other airline, and this new service is perfectly timed for the summer travel season. We thank United for their commitment to SFO and are confident this new service will be a success.”

“Next summer United is offering the best of both worlds: we’re making it easier for our customers to visit the most popular cities in Europe, but we’re also expanding our reach to give travelers access to new places they haven’t yet experienced,” said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of global network planning and alliances at United. “We expect another busy summer for international travel and are proud to build on our industry-leading global network to offer our customers the widest range of destinations and most convenient travel options.”
