Russian and Uzbekistan Railways to create a single digital space

Passenger numbers on the network owned by Russian Railways increased by 13.9% in January 2022

Oleg Belozerov, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, and I. O. Khusnutdin Khasilov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Railways), have discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalisation.

The two company heads met during a three-day working visit of a delegation of Uzbekistan Railways to Moscow.

The transition to unified technologies will increase the reliability and transparency of rail transportation, reduce the time required for cargo clearance and, as a result, will contribute to the expansion of the freight base between the two countries.

The experts from Uzbekistan studied the experience of Russian Railways in the Company’s digital transformation, visited the Main Control Centre and the Transportation Control Centre of Russian Railways and became acquainted with the organisation of the Moscow Central Ring.

During the meeting, the company heads also discussed cooperation on reforming rail transport in Uzbekistan and the development of transport and logistics services.

In addition, experts from the two railway companies looked at practical steps aimed at developing the Russia – Uzbekistan agro-logistics corridor and launching the Agroexpress fast-track refrigerated container (reefer) train.
