Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) officers mentioned the whole 350km line from Madar to Palanpur can be operational by March together with the 45km section connecting Khurja to Dadri. The 120km Rewari – Dadri line is scheduled for completion by December. Â
Prime Minister also inaugurated the 351km Bhaupur – Khurja section of the 1875km Eastern DFC on December 29.
DFFCIL is currently constructing the combined 2843km Eastern and Western DFCs. 4 different dedicated freight routes are deliberate to be taken up within the next stage, because the Indian government strives to construct a 10,000km Golden Quadrilateral network of freight lines: North-South (Delhi – Tamil Nadu), East-West (West Bengal – Maharashtra), East-South (West Bengal – Andhra Pradesh) and South-South (Tamil Nadu – Goa).
Whereas coal and steel, amongst different items, might be carried on the Eastern DFC, the Western route is predicted to hold consumer objects from North India to Mumbai for export. E-commerce corporations similar to Amazon and Flipkart and the auto sector are anticipated to emerge as main purchasers for Indian Railways (IR). The interior movement of fertilizers and grain will also enhance.
A Japan Worldwide Cooperation Agency (Jica) mortgage is funding 80% of the Western DFC’s Rs 460bn ($US 6.3bn) cost with the Indian government dedicated to buying 30% of equipment corresponding to signaling techniques and head hardened rails from Japanese corporations. Nippon Metal, Kawasaki Electrics, and Mitsubishi have been among the many suppliers.
