Scoot customers with a confirmed booking on a VTL flight and have successfully applied for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP), may proceed with their travel.
The South Korean authorities have announced that travellers with confirmed bookings purchased on or before 28 December 2021, 2300hrs SGT may enter South Korea quarantine-free if they meet all the VTL requirements.
Following this, customers with new bookings for flights arriving into South Korea between 28 December 2021, 2301hrs (SGT) and 20 January 2022, 2300hrs (SGT), will have to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival in South Korea.
Travellers who wish to travel under the VTLs between Singapore and South Korea must meet the following requirements:
Having no travel history outside of Singapore or South Korea for the past 14 days
Holding a digitally certifiable vaccination certificate showing proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with any vaccine in the World Health Organisation (WHO) Emergency Use List. Vaccination certificates must be in English and issued by Singapore or South Korea. The final dose of approved vaccines must be completed at least 14 days prior to arrival in Singapore or South Korea
Children below the age of six (calculated based on the date of arrival) are exempted from the vaccination requirement if they are accompanied by an eligible vaccinated adult.
All other unvaccinated travellers may still board the flights to South Korea if they meet the entry requirements, but will be subject to quarantine.
Eligible travellers are required to:
Take a pre-departure Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 48 hours prior to departure and obtain a negative test result (electronic or physical copy)
Book an on-arrival Covid-19 PCR test prior to the departure of their flight from Singapore
Take additional self-administered Antigen Rapid Tests (ART) on day 3 and day 5 after arrival. Travellers are required to take a photo of their ART results together with their passport’s bio-data page for recording purposes.
Purchase mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30 million won (approximately SGD 34,000) for Covid-19 related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs. Customers must also carry a physical copy of their insurance policy for their trip
Obtain a valid visa for visa-required individuals, or an electronic travel authorisation for visa-exempted individuals before entering South Korea
Travellers must have these documents on hand when arriving in South Korea:
Passport with at least six months validity
Valid APEC card / K-ETA / Visa (if applicable)Vaccination certificate with QR code obtained from Notarise
Pre-departure Covid-19 test result certificate issued within 72 hours of departure
On-arrival Covid-19 test booking confirmation
Physical copy of travel insurance with minimum 30 million won (approximately SGD 34,000) for Covid-19 related medical/treatment expenses and hospitalisation cost
Upon completion of the on-arrival test, travellers must leave the airport via private transportation (e.g., taxi or personal vehicle) to their residence or accommodation, where they are required to self-isolate until receiving their PCR test results. All travellers entering South Korea will be required to install a Self-Check Mobile App to key in their daily health status for 10 days from the day of arrival. Those who plan to stay for eight or more days are required to undergo a post-arrival Covid-19 PCR test at their own expense at a clinic designated by the South Korean Government. This must be done on either Day 6 or 7 of their trip, with the arrival day as Day 0. They are required to self-isolate at their residence or accommodation until they receive their PCR test results.
For fully vaccinated South Koreans and permanent residents, only the following requirements apply:
Take a pre-departure Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 48 hours before the scheduled flight departure and obtain a negative test result
Provide a vaccination certificate that shows that their last dose was completed 14 days before the date of arrival in South Korea. Otherwise, they will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine
Take an on-arrival PCR test and self-isolate until test results are obtained. Take a further PCR test on Day 6 or 7, and self-administered ART tests on day 3 and 5 after arrival. Travellers are required to take a photo of their ART results together with their passport’s bio-data page for recording purposes.
Travellers are advised to check South Korea’s latest entry requirements for quarantine-free entry, as quarantine may apply where travellers have a history of travel in countries with a high prevalence of Covid-19.
