Qatar implements new Covid-19 travel measures for travelers from China

Qatar imposed new travel requirements for all travellers coming from China.

The Gulf country requires negative PCR test reports for travellers from china taken within 48 hours of the time of departure to Qatar.

This rule applied to all passengers from China, regardless of their vaccination status. It is a temporary measure, says the Ministry, to safeguard passengers against the virus since China is currently experiencing a Covid wave.

Quarantine is no longer mandatory for all travellers coming from abroad. However, travellers, who are infected with the virus after they arrive in Qatar, must undergo health isolation in accordance with the country’s procedures. It is also no longer mandatory for citizens and residents of Qatar to take a rapid antigen test upon arrival in the country, the ministry added.
