According to the latest figures, the infrastructure of Russian Railways carried almost 75 million passengers in January 2022, 13.9% more than the same indicator last year. Suburban passenger numbers totalled 67.6 million, an increase of 12.8%, while long-distance passengers rose to 7.4 million, an increase of 24.5%.
Passenger turnover in January 2022 amounted to 7.7 billion pass-kilometres, 25.2% more than in January 2021. Suburban passenger turnover was almost 2.1 billion pass-km, an increase of 15.6%, while long-distance passenger turnover increased to 5.6 billion pass-km, a jump of 29.2%.
