No other option but lockdown, Maharashtra chief minister says in all party meeting

Mumbai: As India battling with the second wave of Covid-19, to curb the rising infection rate in Maharashtra, on Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said in a meeting that there is no other option but lockdown. From April 12 to 15, the situation will get worse. It is necessary to break the corona’s chain. Even after applying the vaccine, people are getting corona infected. Lockdown is necessary to prevent infection. At the meeting, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the number of tests should be increased.

More than 55 thousand new cases of corona infection are coming in Maharashtra every day. In view of the Corona epidemic, the state Health Minister has indicated the implementation of a complete lockdown in Maharashtra for two to three weeks. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said in the wake of Corona’s increasing cases that the entire lockdown could be imposed in the state for two to three weeks soon if the situation continues to deteriorate.

Explain that in view of the fast-growing corona cases in the state, the Maharashtra government had announced other restrictions including Weekend Lockdown and Night Curfew till 30th April. Under this, restrictions will be in force from 8 pm on Friday night to 7 am on Monday. During this time all necessary services are exempted. Except for medical shops and milk centers, all other shops and commercial establishments will remain closed. Home delivery of food has been allowed through the online portal. The order states that people cannot go to hotels and restaurants to get food parcels. The students are allowed to take the exam along with the parents.
