Lumbini – This is the most visited place in Nepal due to its rich cultural, religious and archaeological treasures. Royal Bardia National Park – This largest park is located in western Terai with 968 km2. Bhaktapur – It is an ancient town located east of Katmandu valley. Nepalese life can be experienced by visiting this city. Royal Chitwan National Park – This park is famous for a jungle adventure with elephants and ravaging rapids. The park is spread over about 932 sq kilometres and serves as a home for 450 species of birds, 45 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 43 species of mammals. Pashupatinath Temple – This Hindu temple is located four kilometres east of Katmandu. It is believed by people that dying and being cremated in Pashupatinath and having one’s ashes scattered in the Bagmati River will give a Hindu salvation. Climate: Nepal has variations in a climate with a tropical and subtropical climate. The climate as well varies from warm summers with mild winters in the low-lying southern region, to alpine conditions with very severe winters in the mountains. Monsoon season starts from the end of June to the middle of September. About 85% of rainfall occurs in this season. Autumn and spring are the pleasant seasons here. Summer and late spring temperatures range from 28ÂşC (83ÂşF) in the hill regions to more than 40ÂşC (104ÂşF) in the Terai. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the Terai range from a brisk 7ÂşC (45ÂşF) to a mild 23ÂşC (74ÂşF). The best time to travel to Nepal for trekking is in early spring or late autumn when the weather is dry and temperatures mild.
