Malta Remove Testing Requirement for Minors

Malta Reports Total inbound tourists for November 2022 were estimated at 174,460, while total nights spent amounted to 1,203,802

Malta: Children under the age of 12 travelling from any country are not required to submit the negative Covid-19 test documents for travel purposes from Monday (Jun 6).

The notification was published on the official website of visit malta. Now all minors under 12 will be permitted restriction-free entry to Malta. “Children under the age of 12 will no longer be required to present a negative PCR Test Result before travelling to Malta”, the notification reads.

Earlier Malta removes most of the covid-19 travel restrictions to boost tourism.

However, the government health site said, “As from June 6 2022, persons aged 12 years and over are permitted to travel to Malta without undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Standards for the Validity of Vaccine Certificates, Recovery Certificates and Test Certificates for the purpose of Travel to Malta​ and are subject to the provision of proof of either of the 3 following documents:

1. Proof of vaccination, or

2. Proof of recovery, or

3. Test certificate“.

Also, “If persons aged 12 years and over who are not in possession of a recognised vaccination, recovery or test certificate as per applicable standards at COVID-19 – Standards for the Validity of Vaccine Certificates, Recovery Certificates and Test Certificates for the purpose of Travel to Malta​, shall be required to submit themselves to a period of quarantine of 10 days”, the govt. explained.

“Early release is effective for 7 days of quarantine from the date of swab provided that on the 7th day of quarantine the person undergoes an official swab test (carried out by a health professional) that results in a negative.”
