Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown in the state till June 1 to curb the spike in covid-19 cases. Some new rules have also been added to the old ones so that the corona chain can be broken. The current lockdown in the state is in force till May 15.
It will be mandatory for all the people coming to Maharashtra to bring the negative reports of RT-PCR. Which should be 48 hours before the entry in Maharashtra.
This rule was previously applicable to people coming from the sensitive areas of Corona but now it has been applied to citizens coming from all over the country.
Only two people have been allowed to travel in the cargo carrier, which includes the driver and the helper, If the cargo carriers are from outside Maharashtra, they too will have to enter the state taking the RT-PCR negative report 48 hours before.
There will be no restriction on the collection and transport of milk. However, the local administration will allow shops to sell, Workers at airports and seaports who are on duty to carry Covid related medicines and equipment. They have been allowed to travel on local trains, monorail, and metro.
Bihar
Bihar govt. announced to extend the lockdown, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has tweeted that he has seen the positive effect of the lockdown to prevent coronavirus in Bihar, after which the state government has decided that the lockdown period has been extended by 10 days. The lockdown will continue till May 25 in Bihar.
Earlier a proposal related to increasing the lockdown was sent by the Patna district administration to the state government. According to the sources of the district administration, the district administration had mentioned in its proposal that the number of covid cases infection has come down significantly due to the lockdown. If the lockdown continues for a few days, it will be much easier to prevent infection.
Authorities noticed a decline in number of corona patients within the lockdown . On May 5, when a lockdown was imposed in the state, around 14,000 cases come up every day, whereas now below 10,000 cases are coming daily.
As covid cases are concerned, India reported 3,62,727 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of infections to 2,37,03,665 whereas 4,120 people died in the last 24 hrs due to coronavirus infection.
