Delhi Extend the lockdown for 7 days, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced today, during the announcement he mentioned Covid-19 cases continuously surge in Delhi, and to curb the infection lockdown is necessary. The lockdown in Delhi is being extended to 5 am next Monday ( May 3).

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said that during the lockdown we saw that the positivity rate has gone up to about 36-37%, we have not seen such an infection rate in Delhi to date. The infection rate has come down slightly from the last one to two days and has come down to 30 percent today.

Arvind Kejriwal said that the oxygen quota in Delhi has increased from 480 to 490 MT. But only 330-335 tonnes are available. The Center and the Delhi government are delivering oxygen to the hospital.

Kejriwal said that we have started a portal which will be updated every two hours by oxygen manufacturers, suppliers and hospitals for better management of oxygen supply. There is a lot of support from the central government, the central and Delhi governments are working together.

Let us tell you that on April 19, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six-day lockdown which will be applicable till 5 am on Monday morning. This lockdown was implemented to break the link of infection and strengthen the health infrastructure.

A Delhi government source said, “The purpose of the short-term lockdown was to control the number of cases as well as to gain time to strengthen the health infrastructure.” However, the circumstances have gone from bad to worse.

Let us tell you that the number of coronae infected in the capital is increasing very fast. More than one lakh cases have been reported in five days. There is also a shortage of oxygen. With this, the total number of infected corona in Delhi has crossed the 1 million mark. At the same time, active cases have also increased to more than 93 thousand. Containment zones have also increased to more than 24 thousand with increasing cases.
