Korea Tourism Organization hosted the 2023 Korea MICE Alliance Conference on March 20 – 21. The event took place at the Asia Culture Center, a Korea Unique Venue in Gwangju, to serve as a platform for networking and exchange for members of Korea’s MICE industry.
Korea MICE Alliance (KMA) is a national alliance comprised of MICE-related organizations and associations in Korea, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization, and local CVBs. The alliance meets every quarter and carries out MICE-related activities throughout the year to develop and strengthen Korea’s MICE industry.
At the meeting, approximately 70 members of KTO, RTO, CVB, academia and associations gathered to network and exchange updates on the local meetings and events industry for the year ahead.
Members of KTO presented key items for the current year, including Korea Unique Venue, promotion of regional MICE and meeting technology, and customized support programs for international conventions. There was a brief introduction to the upcoming Asia Pacific MICE Business Festival to be held at CECO from April 20 – 21.
Presentations included ‘Connection between Performance Tourism and the MICE industry as Key Content for the Future Korean Market’ and a presentation on MICE Risk Management.
On the last day of the event, attendees enjoyed a post-tour exploring the local attractions of Gwangju such as the Jeonil Building 245 and Yangnim History & Culture Village.
