Seoul, Korea: Korean government reissuance of short-term visit visas for travelers from China from February 11, 2023. The mandatory COVID-19 Test before and after arrival will still be in place, but may possibly end sooner than expected.
The Korean government announced, until the end of February, all visitors entering from China, Hong Kong, and Macau must be tested for COVID-19 before departure. Visitors require a negative result from either a COVID-19 PCR Test taken within 48 hours of departure or a COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) taken within 24 hours of departure.
Visitors are also required to take a COVID-19 PCR Test within one day of entrance.
The above requirements apply to anyone who has stayed in or visited China in the past 7 days before coming to Korea. Short-term visitors from China must immediately take a PCR test upon arrival and wait for the result at a separate space. Returning South Korean citizens and long-term stay visitors entering from China must take the test within one day of entry and wait for the result at their residence.
In case of positive results, short-term visitors will be administered by temporary housing facilities located in different cities and provinces, while those who tested positive upon airport entry will be administered at temporary quarantine facilities.
