New Delhi: 141 Passengers were evacuated from Kochi-bound Air India Express flight IX 442 at Muscat airport in Oman today (Sept 14) following a smoke warning just before take-off.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) released a statement that said, “All crew and the 145 passengers on board, four of them infants, were evacuated from the aircraft and shifted to the terminal building. No injuries have been reported. Relief flight will be organised.”
Two months ago, an Air India Express aircraft operating from Calicut to Dubai had to be diverted to Muscat after a burning smell was observed. No serious damage was found.
