He further said that the tourism department has also started the first hot-air balloon ride at Zabarwan Park in Srinagar, which is bound to attract tourists. Not only this, but the department is also planning to introduce paragliding at all the major tourist destinations across Kashmir.
Sarmad Hafeez, tourism secretary, said that the department organised a series of roadshows in cities like Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru and Kolkata to attract tourists. He said, “This year, all the hotels and houseboats are booked for the next two months which is a good sign”.
He further said that they expect an increase in tourist numbers in the coming months and their aim is to offer a unique experience to people visiting Kashmir.
Not only this, but the state will also start its annual Amarnath Yatra on June 30 for a period of 43 days. For the past two years, the yatra had been suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government is expecting a record number of pilgrims in 2022.
