Jet2.com and Jet2holidays had Thursday (14th April) waved off their first flights to Athens, after inaugural flights departed from Manchester and Birmingham Airports to the historic Greek city.
The busy flights mark the start of the leading leisure airline and city break specialist operating to Athens, with two weekly services (Thursday and Sunday) available from each base until the end of October. With up to four weekly flights departing from the UK to Athens throughout the summer months, including weekend and mid-week services, holidaymakers can enjoy either a long weekend or a longer break to the famous ancient city.
The start of flights and city breaks to Athens is part of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ expanded programme for Summer 22. Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have consolidated its position as the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to Greece, by announcing a massive expansion for Summer 22, with over half a million extra seats on sale to Greece compared to Summer 19 – a capacity increase of 86%. As a result of this growth, the leading leisure airline and tour operator has over 1.1 million seats on sale from the UK to Greece in Summer 22.
As well as offering services to Athens for the first time, the leading leisure airline and tour operator will also operate to two other new destinations this summer – Sardinia (Manchester and London Stansted) and Sicily (Leeds Bradford, Manchester and London Stansted) from 1st May.
