Japan to remove COVID-19 travel restrictions from October 11

Japan to lift COVID-19 travel restrictions for international tourists from October 11, 2022.

“Japan will allow visa-free, individual travel and abolish its daily arrival cap as of Oct. 11”, Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made the announcement on Thursday (Sep 22) during his visit to New York for the U.N. General Assembly.

This decision of reopening the borders comes after nearly 2½ years of strict COVID-19 restrictions.
