Italy imposes Covid-19 testing rules for travelers from China.
“I have ordered mandatory Covid-19 antigenic swabs, and related virus sequencing, for all passengers coming from China and transiting through Italy,” Health Minister Orazio Schillaci said, according to a report by AFP. The measure was “essential to ensure the surveillance and identification of any variants of the virus in order to protect the Italian population.”
The US imposes mandatory COVID-19 tests on travelers from China. From 5 January all air passengers aged two and older will require a negative result from a test no more than two days before departure from China, Hong Kong, or Macao.
