Israel to lift Testing Mandate at Ben Gurion International Airport on May 20th

Isreal requires negative covid reports for Non-Israeli citizens, tourists from China

Israel: Ministry of Health issued a press release on Sunday (May 8) regarding the removal of covid-19 testing at Ben Gurion International Airport, as per the press release “Travellers arriving at Ben Gurion International Airport will no longer be required to take a PCR test effective 20.5.2022”.

“The resolution has been made in light of the decline in infection rate and upon completion of deliberations between Ministry of Health professionals and Airport Authority representatives. It has been concluded that healthcare professionals develop a method to support the functionality of the testing system at Ben Gurion International Airport, in order to allow for its rapid reactivation, whether fully or partially, as necessary”.

Additionally, the Health Minister and the Chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Gilad Kariv, concluded that starting Tuesday (May 19), foreign nationals arriving in Israel will be allowed to take an antigen test before boarding the flight (as an alternative to the PCR test). Non-Israelis who will choose the antigen alternative will be required to take the test within 24 hours before the flight to Israel.”
