Israel Inter-Ministerial Exceptions Committee by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Population and Immigration Authority on Sunday (Sept. 19), unanimously approved the exemption from the testing requirement for anyone who presents airline representatives abroad with a positive PCR test. indicating their infection with coronavirus in the time frame described below: Â Â
The testing date (the date of collecting a sample for testing) shall be no less than 11 days before the date of flight and no more than 3 months from the date of recovery.
Presenting PCR test results in IN ADDITION to filling in the arriving traveler’s declaration as required.
Anyone who was infected and recovered in Israel and carries a certificate of recovery from the State of Israel (which is not based on serological test results) shall present the certificate, provided that no more than 3 months have passed since its issuing.
Anyone presenting test results to any test other than PCR is not eligible for exemption from the testing requirement before boarding the flight.Â
So far, recovered individuals who flew to Israel have been required to file a request to the Exceptions Committee ahead of time, in order to be eligible for exemption from the PCR test requirement. Now with the Committee’s resolution, individual requests for exemptions shall no longer be required.
This resolution has been brought to the airline officials’ attention for them to take immediate action in accordance with the Exceptions Committee’s resolution.
