Foreign visitor's arrival in Turkey in July 2022 increased by 53% compared to the previous year

According to the temporary data published from the General Directorate of Security on Monday (Aug 22), The number of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey increased by 53% from the last year to 6,665,129 in July.

Of the 6,665,129 foreign visitors who arrived in July, 124,486 ( 1.87%) are excursionists.

In July 2022, the top 5 provinces foreign visitors entered Turkey are:

1-Antalya 34.66% (2,309,973)

2-Istanbul 26.40% (1,759,506)

3-Edirne 11.60% (772,978)

4-Muğla 9.12% (607,530)

5-Izmir 4.23% (281,606)     

In January-July 2022 period the number of foreign visitors arrived is 23,030,209 which increased by 128.28% compared to the previous year.            

Of the 23,030,209 foreign visitors who arrived in January-July 2022 period, 355,474 (1.54%) are excursionists.            

In January-July 2022 period, the top 5 provinces foreign visitors entered Turkey are:  

1-İstanbul 36.97% (8,514,806)

2-Antalya 27.61% (6,359,373)

3-Edirne 10.95% (2,522,829)

4-Muğla 6.43% (1,481,991)

5-Artvin 3.39% (781,260)

In the July 2022 time period, the top tourism markets for Turkey are Germany with 14.43% (962,003), Russia Fed. with 11.12% (741,419) United Kingdom (UK) with 8.19% (545,973) share of the total visitors. United Kingdom (UK) is followed by Netherlands and Bulgaria.

In the January – July 2022 time period, the top tourism markets for Turkey are Germany with 12.99% (2,992,551) Russia Fed. with 9.54% (2,197,331) United Kingdom (UK) with 7.86% (1,810,248) share of the total visitors. United Kingdom (UK) is followed by Bulgaria and Iran.
