First Condor A330neo Frankfurt lands at Frankfurt Airport

Condor’s renewal of the long-haul fleet begins with the first aircraft

Welcome home, Condor A330neo: Monday (Dec 19) evening, the first brand-new A330neo from Condor lands at Frankfurt Airport. The machine with the registration D-ANRA is the first of the 18 ordered long-haul aircraft that will fly for Condor as part of the fleet renewal. The first commercial flight is expected to take place later this year from Frankfurt to Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. In the coming weeks, other destinations such as the Maldives or Punta Cana will follow, which will be the first to be visited.

“It is an important one for Condor and its future. With the arrival of our first A330neo in Frankfurt, a new era begins for Condor,” says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO Condor. “The fuel consumption of the 2-liter aircraft is well below the industry average and reduces CO2 emissions by 20 percent on the same routes. This, together with the latest technologies and the highest level of comfort, is groundbreaking for the future and the way to one of the greenest fleets in Europe.”

The Condor A330-900neo

Condor’s long-haul fleet renewal begins with the first brand-new A330neo. With the new aircraft, Germany’s most popular holiday airline is focusing on innovative further development, excellent efficiency and maximum customer comfort at the same time. With a significantly greater sense of space, the latest generation of inflight entertainment and, for the first time, connectivity on board, guests will be able to start their vacation even more relaxed and with a good feeling. Because the new aircraft has the most modern engines from the manufacturer Rolls Royce as well as special aerodynamics. Thanks to the latest technology, the Trent 7000 engines are particularly efficient and can be operated with sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Among other things, this leads to 20 percent lower CO2 emissions and significant fuel savings that are second to none. The Airbus A330neo is the first aircraft in the world to already be certified for the government’s mandated reduction in CO2 emissions, which will apply from 2028.

In addition, the latest flight and navigation systems are installed in the aircraft, which have been specially developed for Condor in order to meet customer-specific requirements. This means that noise- and CO2-efficient arrival and departure procedures are also possible at particularly high-altitude airports – in addition, Condor is reducing noise pollution with the new aircraft by up to 60 percent.
