Emirates to resume flight service to Lagos from Sept 11

Dubai, UAE: Emirates airlines on Thursday (Sept 1) announced to resume flights to Lagos from 11 September 2022.

In a notification issued on the website, the airline said ” Emirates welcomes the Central Bank of Nigeria’s move to release a portion of our blocked funds, and we continue to engage with the Nigerian authorities to ensure the repatriation of our outstanding and future funds may continue without hindrance.”

“In light of these developments, Emirates will reinstate flights to/from Lagos from 11 September, which is the earliest date for us to coordinate the smooth and safe resumption of operations. It will also provide travellers with sufficient time to plan and book their journeys”, the airline mentioned.

The Airline further said, “Customers travelling to/from Nigeria whose previous bookings were cancelled can contact their travel agents for rebooking or refunds.  Customers who have booked directly with Emirates may contact the local office for rebooking, or visit emirates.com/refund to request a refund.”

The airlines had earlier announced the suspension of flight operations to Nigeria from September 1, 2022, following its inability to repatriate over $85 million of its tickets sale.
