Abu Dhabi Airports Announce 15.9 million Total Passenger Traffic for 2022

Easter holiday traffic at BER Over a million passengers expected

126 destinations served from BER

The Easter period, with two weeks of school holidays in Berlin and Brandenburg, is one of the most popular holiday seasons.

During the holiday period from 8. to 24. April, 55 airlines will operate flights from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to126 destinations in 49 countries on four continents. Among the most popular destinations are the Mediterranean region, the Canary Islands, Scandinavia and major European cities such as Istanbul, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome and many more. Added to this are the long-haul connections: FTI/Smartlynx flies direct to Dubai, Qatar Airways to Doha, Scoot connects BER with Singapore, and United Airlines flies from BER to New York.

In total, more than a million passengers are expected at BER over the Easter holidays. The busiest days will be the last school day before the holidays – 8. April 2022 – and the Sunday before the schools return on 24. April 2022, with over 70,000 passengers expected on each of these days. Within the Easter holidays, 50.000 to 65,0000 passengers will use BER every day.

Aletta von Massenbach, CEO, Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: â€śWhen I walk through the terminals these days, I sense our passengers clearly looking forward to holidays and flying again. We expected to see around a million passengers over the Easter holidays. It shows that the desire to travel is returning. This development is encouraging for everybody at the airport, but it also presents challenges. The airport company, the police authorities, the airlines and all the service providers at BER will need to work hard to ensure smooth operations. If there are then absences in the already tense staffing situation, we may experience some delays.”

Terminal 1 or Terminal 2

Easter traffic at BER will operate using both terminals. All Ryanair flights depart from Terminal 2. In addition to Ryanair arrivals, arrivals from other airlines will be routed through Terminal 2; passenger will then collect their baggage there. Passengers and anyone meeting passengers can find the relevant terminal on the website, in the app and on the airport display boards as well as from their airline.
