2.48 Million Passengers Through Dublin Airport In March 2023

Dublin Airport Passenger Numbers Reached 98% of 2019 Levels in November

Just over 2.2 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in November, an increase of 800,000 passengers when compared to 2021 and 98% of the passenger numbers seen pre-pandemic in November 2019.

More than 25.8 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in the first eleven months of 2022, representing an increase of 250% versus last year and around 85% of 2019 levels.

In November, passenger volumes to and from Continental Europe increased by 376,000 versus the same month last year. That number was up by 6% when compared with November 2019.

UK traffic reached almost 727,000 in November – an increase of around 244,000 in the same month last year, and around 87% of November 2019 traffic.

Passenger volumes to and from North America were at 92% versus November 2019, with around 242,000 passengers travelling on transatlantic routes. This figure was around 145,000 higher than in the same period last year.

Other International passenger traffic totalled around 74,000, which was 44,000 more than travelled in November 2021, and 10,000 higher than in 2019.

Domestic passengers have increased by 43% versus 2019, to just under 11,000. This was almost 3,500 higher than last year.

According to Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager, daa: “Each month in 2022 we’ve seen passenger numbers edge ever closer to where they were prior to the pandemic. Indeed, there were several individual days during November when the number of people travelling through Dublin Airport was higher than on the corresponding date in 2019. This continued recovery shows the considerable demand that remains for overseas travel, and we anticipate that this trend will continue in December.”

“In November, 9 out of 10 passengers went through security screening in under 20 minutes, with 98% through in under 30 minutes. During each month since July, more than 97% of all passengers passed through security screening in under 30 minutes. In total, since June, almost 17 million passengers have been processed through Dublin Airport without any notable security-related challenges.”

Dublin Airport will serve over 180 destinations worldwide this year with 43 airline partners as it continues to rebuild its global reach following the devastating impact on the aviation sector due to COVID-19.
