Dubai, UAE: Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that it has launched a comprehensive questionnaire to measure the mobility characteristics of individuals and families residing or working in the Emirate of Dubai, as well as companies that base their businesses in the emirate.Â
This step comes as part of the authority’s efforts to update its strategic plans for roads and transportation, and to strengthen road networks and mass transit networks and services, with the aim of providing an easy and safe transportation experience for the public, and keeping pace with the future urban development of the Emirate of Dubai according to the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
The questionnaire, which runs from January to June 2023, includes more than 7,000 diverse samples of the population in the Emirate of Dubai and the neighboring emirates, distributed as follows: 5,000 families (citizens and residents), more than 1,500 individuals who visit and work in Dubai, and about 500 One of the freight transport companies in Dubai.
In the same context, Mona Al-Osaimi, Director of the Strategic Planning Department in the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, said: “In the coming days, the authority will launch its questionnaire to measure the mobility characteristics and behaviors of residents and visitors of Dubai, and the channels of communication with the public will vary to include: home questionnaires, And field visits, personal interviews, and digital interviews via the Internet and smart applications, and the latest artificial intelligence technologies will be used, with the aim of reaching the largest possible segment of individuals.
Al-Osaimi added: “All results of the questionnaire will be collected, analyzed, and studied in a professional and transparent manner to obtain information that will contribute to assisting the authority in updating strategic and operational plans for the road network and mass transit systems, including the Dubai metro and tram, public buses, marine transport patterns, and individual means of transportation.” and flexible.”
