Himachal Pradesh: Tourists to Himachal Pradesh now easily cover the distance from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj in just 9 minutes via the newly inaugurated ropeway by the state Chief Minister on Wednesday (January 19) to boost tourism in the state.
The skyway, has a mono-cable detachable gondola (cabin) system, with 18 gondolas and a capacity of ferrying 1,000 persons per hour. During the peak tourist season, the road that connects Dharamshala and Mcleodganj witnesses frequent traffic jams; however, now the said ropeway will cut down the travel time by around 40 per cent.
One-way tariff for travelling in this ropeway from Dharamsala to Mcleodganj is INR 300 per person, while the two-way tariff is INR 500 per person.
