The Covid-19 crisis in India continues to wreak havoc across the country. India has been reporting over 4 lakh Coronavirus infections for the past 4 days. According to the Union Health Ministry data on Sunday (May 9), India reported 4,03,738 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 2,22,96,414. AS many as 4,092 patients died due to complications linked to Coronavirus infections. With the new infections, the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country increased to 37,36,648.
GOA
Goa, travelers’ favorite beach state, will be under strict curfew for 15 days, starting today. The state government has announced the curfew to contain the spread of COVID-19. In addition, the government has also announced that visitors from other states to Goa essentially need to carry either a negative COVID-19 report or certificate of vaccination
RAJASTHAN
Rajasthan government has announced a complete lockdown from 10 to 24 May due to rising COVID-19 cases in the state and the country. The announcement was made by Chief Minister after consulting the Council of Ministers on Thursday. The lockdown will begin on May 10 from 5 AM and will continue till May 24 (5 AM).
All activities will be banned completely in Rajasthan during this phase which includes wedding ceremonies too. In fact, all wedding ceremonies have been prohibited from the conduct of any wedding functions till 31 May. Only essential services will be available during the lockdown.
Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister has extended the lockdown in the city by another week, making the restrictions stricter. Even the metro services have been suspended this time. The lockdown will be on till 5 am on May 17, he said the extension is meant to ensure that the city does not let its guard down even though the Covid numbers have dropped marginally.
Jammu and Kashmir
Announced an extension of curfew in all 20 districts till 7 am May 17.
With Covid-19 cases continue to spike, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Kerala governments also have extended lockdown.
