Indira Gandhi International Airport has launched a COVID-19 vaccination center, which is going to vaccinate all staff associated with the airport operations. The newly vaccination center has been set up at the airport’s Terminal 1.
Those who are above the age of 18 can get themselves registered, and get the jab, but it’s a paid service, so that needs to be kept in mind. The initiative is a collaboration between the airport and Manipal Hospital.
The aviation industry is a priority for the government right now, therefore, employees working in this industry must get vaccinated.
A statement from the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) CEO, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, indicated that the airport staff, along with the stakeholders who work round the clock to maintain the airport operational should be provided with the jabs so as to give them a safer environment to work in. He mentioned, “They provided much-needed support to the nation and the countrymen during the lockdown. We’re launching the vaccination drive for these Covid warriors who’re part of the airport’s ecosystem to save them from this dreaded virus.”
The employees are required to register themselves on the COWIN website, or on the Aarogya Setu app first in order to get vaccinated. The vaccination center is open for employees from 10 am to 5 pm.
