Cyprus: The arrivals of tourists reached 451.133 in August 2022 compared to 321.858 in August 2021, recording an increase of 40,2%.
For the period of January – August 2022, arrivals of tourists totalled 2.127.172 compared to 960.150 in the corresponding period of 2021, 424.850 in the period of January – August 2020 and 2.735.839 arrivals in the period of January – August 2019.

Analysis of countries
Arrivals from the United Kingdom were the main source of tourism for August 2022, with a share of 41,2% (186.002) of total arrivals, followed by Israel with 9,6% (43.326), Poland with 5,2% (23.557), Germany with 4,7% (21.306), Sweden with 4,2% (18.759), Greece with 3,1% (13.991) and France with 3,0% (13.365).
Purpose of visit
For a percentage of 85,5% of tourists, the purpose of their trip in August 2022 was holidays, for 12,4% visited with friends and relatives and for 2,1% business. Respectively, in August 2021, 87,7% of tourists visited Cyprus for holidays, 9,9% visited friends or relatives and 2,3% visited Cyprus for business reasons.
