Airline plans nonstop flights from Edmonton starting June 6th

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) welcomed an announcement on Tuesday (Feb 15) from Canadian low-cost airline Swoop which detailed plans to launch nonstop flights from Edmonton effective June 6, 2022. Swoop plans to operate flights four days per week using Boeing 737-800 Next-Generation aircraft. Service to SFO is part of five new destinations for the airline, along with expanded service to six existing destinations within the United States.

“SFO is pleased to welcome Swoop Airlines to offer nonstop service between Edmonton and San Francisco, starting this summer,” said SFO Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. “This new Canadian service helps to define SFO as a world-class gateway airport, strengthening our ties with our neighbour to the North, and we hope this new service will be a great success.”
