Brussels Airport on Sunday (Jun 19) announced to cancel all flights scheduled for Monday (Jun 20) for “security” reasons, on a day filled with national demonstrations. Cargo flights will still be operational.
In regard to this, the airport issued a notification stating,” Due to the national manifestation and strike of a large part of the security staff of G4S on Monday 20 June, no passenger flights will depart from Brussels Airport. Passengers are urged not to come to the airport and to rebook their flight. Only arriving (and cargo) flights will be carried out.”
A total of 232 flights departing from Brussels Airport are cancelled, while one flight in four is operated, in the direction of arrivals, the sources confirmed.
Moreover, the airport also mentioned, “Long waiting times are also possible on Tuesday due to cancelled flights on Monday.”
