Tawang

The city of Tawang is one of the most beautiful places in India that offers great eternal peace and is the best place to visit in Summer. Situated at an elevation of 3049 meters, this town lies in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh. The major tourist attraction of Tawang is the Tawang Monastery, which is said to be the biggest Buddhist Monastery outside Tibet and a major holy site for all Tibetan Buddhists.

The other major attractions of this place include the Tipi Orchid Sanctuary (which houses thousands of varieties of orchids), the fortified complex of the monastery, the beautiful lake of Pankang Teng Tso, Sangeter Lake, Banggachang Lake, and the eight-meter-tall statue of Sakyamuni Buddha.

Shimla

This city is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and is one of the major tourist attractions in this state. The city of Shimla is a famous hill station and is counted among the top ten summer destinations in India. Shimla is generally famous for its discrete culture and the magnificent scenic beauty it possesses.

Munnar

Munnar is a breathtaking hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala and is spread in the lap of the Western Ghats. Mudrapuzha, Kundala, and Nallathanni are the three mountain streams on which this majestic summer destination is situated. This beautiful hill station was once a summer recourse in South India for the British Government.

Srinagar

Srinagar is one of the most beautiful places to visit in summer with its beautiful landscapes, gardens, lakes, houseboats, and is often denoted as the “Venice of the East”. Srinagar is one of the oldest known cities and dates back its presence to the 3rd century BC. Some of the major tourist attractions of Srinagar include Dal Lake (magnificent lake with several houseboats and shikaras), Mughal Gardens (gardens built by Mughals using the Islamic style architecture featuring pools, fountains, and canals), Nishant Baug (literary means the garden of joy, was built by Asif Khan, the father-in-law of Shah Jahan in the year 1633), Shalimar Baug (built-in 1619 by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan), and Sher Garhi Palace (former residence of the Maharajas of Jammu and Kashmir).

Nainital

This is one of the famous and highly tourist-attracted hill stations in Uttarakhand. Nainital lies around 6350 feet above sea level and comprises three mountains including the Naina, Deopatha, and Ayarpatha. The hill station has a huge number of picturesque destinations that attract tourists to visit this place again and again.

Kullu

Kullu is a leading hill station in Himachal Pradesh. Formed due to the valley created by the Beas River, this place is covered with dense pine and deodar forests. Kullu is also famous for its sprawling apple orchids and the magnificent view of the Himalayas one gets to see from here.

Gulmarg

One of the well-known hill stations in northern India, Gulmarg is one of the worth visiting places. The place is named Gulmarg, as it is blessed with grassy hills and colorful flowers.

Mussoorie

An awesome hill station situated in the Dehradun district is one of the most magnificent places worth visiting in Uttarakhand. The town has rich flora and fauna and some of the most captivating landscapes. Some of the major tourists attracted destinations in Mussoorie include Gun Hill (the highest point in Mussoorie), Lake Mist (also known as the queen of hills and has the Kempty river flowing here giving rise to several small waterfalls), Mussoorie Lake (a lake that also provides an enchanting view of Doon Valley), and Bhatta Falls (a waterfall worth seeing).

Leh

This city was the capital of one of the oldest Himalayan kingdoms. The city is still dominated by the ruined Leh Palace which is a major tourist attraction. Leh once served as an important trade route between the Indus Valley, Tibet, and China.
