Austrian Airlines to start a new direct route between Vienna and Tromsø

Austrian Airlines flight to Valencia

From Saturday, June 4th it’s “ready for take-off” to Valencia. Austrian Airlines is once again expanding its route network and is now setting the course for the “beauty” of the Mediterranean. The Spanish metropolis will initially be flown to twice a week non-stop from Vienna on Tuesdays and Saturdays, making it one of the more than 110 destinations of the red-white-red airline.

At Pentecost, Austrian Airlines recorded over 150,000 bookings, almost three times as many as in 2021. For flights in the coming summer months, incoming bookings at Austrian are currently almost four times as high as in the previous year and longer-term bookings are being recorded again. The Austrian home airline is therefore offering a 20 per cent larger range of European holiday destinations than before the pandemic and is continuously expanding its route network.

“Destinations around the Mediterranean are currently enjoying enormous popularity. With the addition of Valencia to our route network, we are responding to the Austrians’ currently happily unbridled desire to travel and are continuously expanding our network even beyond the pre-crisis level,” Austrian CCO Michael Trestl is convinced.
